water in engne help please

Yes I have done it, the word idiiot springs to mind, anyway can someone please tell me how to remove the injectors on a defender td5, I have taken off the rocker cover but can't see how the injectors are fixed into the head, help please.
The enjine was on tick over when it droped into a rather deep hole and imediatley stalled, I have removed all the air intake pipes and box ect but do I need to check anthing else once I have hopefully pushed out any water in the cylinders.
 
1) Take off the "rocker cover" which is really the cam carrier cover.
2) Gradually loosen and remove the bolts holding the injector rocker shaft in place.
3) Lift out the injector rocker shaft.
4) Loosen and remove the injector clamp bolts and the clamps.
5) Using a small pry bar carefully lift the injectors from their seats one at a time. Only lever on the injector body and NOT the solenoid. They must be replaced in the same cylinder position. You will have to turn the main camshaft in order to get some of the injectors past the lobes.
6) Reverse the above to refit but use new O rings and copper washers. Keep everything clean as the smallest piece of grit will destroy an injector seat.

Pay particular attention to bolt torque values as they are easily over tightened.

Should have mentioned that you need to back off the injector rocker adjusters BEFORE taking off the rocker shaft.

Refit the shaft with the adjusters loosened right off.

Once the shaft is fitted carefully turn the adjusters until they can be felt to "bottom out" and then back off one turn before locking them down.
If you get this bit wrong you can destroy the injectors and/or the rocker shaft.
 
I don't know much about TD5 engines, but don't they have glowplugs. If so then it would probably be easier to take them out and spin the engine over to get the water out of the cylinders.
 
Best not to leave anything else to chance now - have a bottle of good whisky to hand incase you've done some proper damage;) I hope it's all O.K.
 
Thanks for the help guys, I took the complete air system off, from the wing through to the inlet manifold and everything in between. I removed the glow plugs and water was in the front two cylinders. The intercooler was also full which meant removal of the grill and some brackets which are bolted to the inner wings. Just started puttting back together, fingers crossed xxxx
The ecu remained above water so that should be ok. will let you know the outcome by tomorrow. Once again thanks for the assistance
