Hi I have just been off roading and been through a decent length ford (Little Cawthorpe Near Louth in Lincoilnshire - recommend this one !) and put a wading plug in the bell housing bottom hole, I have a wading kit fitted to both axles, transmission and gearbox

I have not fitted a snorkel yet though but water was only about 18" to 24" deep so don't think any would have got in air filter

I have got home and removed the bell housing plug and a small amount of water dripped out the bell housing !!

where will this be getting in and do I need a wading plug in anywhere else ??

does anyone have any suggestions please ??:)

bell housing isnt sealed to engine ,check your axle oil too ,none of its completely water proof it designed for going through the splash rather than the stream length

thanks jamesmartin,
I'll check this - I am going to be changing oils in next week or so, so will see if any water is in then, but if I wasn't doing this is the way to check the axle oil to remove drain plug and let a bit out to see colour and then top back up ?
all a bit new to me !
as you're local, any advice on good green lanes in the area please, would be much appreciated
