Water circulation problem

Can anyone help with the following problem. Land rover disco 2 4l petrol v8, with gas conversion. Disco started over heating so fitted new rad, water pump, thermostate. But still no joy . Still gets hot. The heaters still work as normal. Top hose is hot but bottom is cold. Tryed old thermostate, open permanently by smashing gut's out (spat dummy out, pushed pram over ) . After all this water still not circulating around engine, all part's fitted are new not 2nd hand. I'm pickled so time to pickle your brain's. All i'm thinking now is gallon of petrol cos enough is enough, but i can't due to love for my landy disco 2. :doh:

ok when you changed the rad what colour was the water? did it have a rusty colour to it? was ther lots of crap come out when you drained it ther could be a blockage some where?

if not try draining it down when cool and try pullin off the top and bottom hose to the rad and pour cold water through and see what flow you get out of it as to what you put through it (just cos its new dont mean its not got a fault), remove the thermastat and try the same through the engine and check the heater matrix to if you can if you have a blockage you might be able to narrow it down a bit. (if nothing else it will flush the system through and maybe narrow down the blockage).

if loads of crap came out on your flush has the pump became cloged and not circulateing the coolant well?

when doing a coolant change i use deionised water and correct coolant, deionised water has no mineral deposits so helps to keep coolant system clear of scale, oxidisation and so forth.

if not chat to your local garage they might be able to do a sniffer test (i think ist called) on the coolant system and see fi exsaust gasses are getting into your system Head gasket fault)
