How should I set it?

Reason, the nut worked loose and it seperated.

So put back in roughly same place, but what should it be?

Do you have a nanocom ? or similar diagnostics that shows the inlet manifold pressure?

If you do iirc max you can set it to is 242 kpa. Then it will start to limit.
iirc I set mine to 11 threads. Which gave me 240 Kpa at max boost.

Tighten it to 11 threads left from lock nut and if it goes to overboost loosen it half thread at a time untill it rides fine

Actually it's a bit more complicated(i had the same impression like you untill i dug deeper) the overboost limit is based on boost pressure calculated by the ECM at 1.42 Bar from MAP - AAP readings so if you are at high altitude or the sucction is high and the AAP goes to let's say 90 kPa under heavy load the overboost protection will kick in at 232 kPa MAP reading cos 232 - 90 = 142(1.42 bar) if you see what i mean

Yes that is how I have always known it, but for sake of argument it is simple enough to use .

Had a look today, gave up, will need some plasticene to take a copy of the thread.

Paper I thought it was 14.

Just could not get focus on it.
 
Today i have adjusted mine. It was on 12-13 with turbo pressure about 1.25 bar. Now it is on about 11 and i have 1.35bar.
 
The turbo is set to 13 threads from factory as to work well with the Td5's management, if you have to add more lenght to the rod there's a problem with the valve or something, it can even accept 2-3 threads less as to not create overboost but to lenghten the rod is completely illogical

Just could not get focus on it.
I just take a scribe, stick the point in a thread and slowly move it up one click at a time as it were. Even if I can see them, I still cannot count them, I go cross eyed!, but at 15 you can come two or three threads up.:)

You can measure the lenght of the rod with caliper and remember it for next time then you dont have to count threads only to set the other to the same lenght(or shorter if no overboost) but not longer whatsoever... i'd measure mine and tell you but it's irrelevant as i have forge actuator

It had fallen off, locknut came loose.

Was too long before as I think it had been done to sort an overflow replacing the AFM sorted.

I will take it two turns next dry day
