Just got an amazing deal on a Warn 9.5 XP for my 110. Its been sat on a car for two years, but is as new. Was just for show...

Before I fit the winch, I want to strip it and check its ok, then just give it a bit of preventative maintenance - lubrication, new o-rings etc.

anyone any tips on what to use to clean the motor (can I lube it with say wd40, or shoudl i buy electrical spray?)

any other ideas on what I should do before fitting?

Also, wheres the best place to fit solenoid box? was thinking either somewhere inside bonnet, or under seat?

Cheers

have just done my warn xd9000i winch and put a new motor on it aswell.

the best thing to do is thro away the standard solenoid box there crap and will be the 1st thing that packs up.
an albrite solenoid is loads better and is waterproof
i have one solenoid behind the front grill and one inside the rear load area for the rear winch.

also if the winch hasnt been used that much i wouldnt really think about taking it apart just to have a look and clean it.

make sure you have a shut off switch fitted the easiest place is on the front of the seat box.

i was given a brand new never fitted warn 9.5 xp motor for mine which i was well chuffed with but if i fit it to me winch the winch wont fit in the winch tray what a bummer!
