Hoping for help from the experienced!

I have a Defender 110. first reg. jun 06, previous owner loaded it with winch and other extras.

I have not used the winch much and it looks like new.

I went to use it today and the LED on the remote is flashing rather than constant. It h as been constant in the past. Apparently this means it is starting to overheat, implying sustained heavy use.

All I did was switch it on so it cannot be "hot", any ideas, suggestions, is it safe to ignore? The manual says can continue to use but not further heavy use, but it starts flashing before any use!

thanks in advance

mike

I have the same winch.
the worst thing that effeects winches is when they havent been used for a while. Its good practise every now and then to use it. Moisture gets into the switches which cause a problem. I had the same as you... when the wich was used and got warm the symptons went away.
Thats my experience anyway.
