I run a SIII myself but I must admit I prefer the SIIA. I like the fact that they don't have much nasty cheap plastic on them like all later Land-Rovers do - the last of the real Land-Rovers I think. Metal dashes, wire radiator grilles and double-de-clutching rule! and only pussies need interior heaters. Get one with a replacement chassis and a properly sorted bulkhead.

Not correct. There are 2a hinges that have mounts for mirror arms. They just aren't as common as the the standard ones.

Its worth taking your time until the "right" one comes along (a bit like girls!!!! ). I wanted for a number of years until I found Gertrude, for which I paid just £400 plus repairs to make her road worthy again (which amounted to two outriggers and the rear cross member!!!!).

But like you say I am able to tinker with her (just like girls again ) to keep her sweet!!!!:amen: :amen:
