well - as I aint looked at yo motor - its a guess, but it is an informed one that has been the cause of your symptoms on many another motor.

ask Trewy, if yu dont believe me - better still get it checked out.

Cool cheers, I was not sure as you came back so quick, could have been any answer (like rear door catch not functioning properly).

Is there a method of checking to see if this is the problem without simply replacing it?

yu cud try getting a tyre lever under it or summat - or just ask an indie if it is worn.

as yu have replaced most of the front end steering, and yu still got the prob, then its time to start looking at the rear stuff which causes those symptoms - yes?

ffs, what do yer think Daft is, a psychic magician or sommat?

without examining your vehicle and eliminating other possibilities, all anyone can do is guess.

it's sommat for you to check, which has been known to cause the problem in the past. there's a dozen other possibilities also however.

wheel bearings
trailing arm bushes
radius arm bushes
panhard rod bushes
swivel bearings
tyres
steering box
track rods

can't be bovvered to think of any more fer a numpty.

I have recently changed all the discs and done the bearings at the same time,

sorry to bring up an old thread. Still haveing the same problem. I havenow changed all the balljoints form the drop arm onwards. Indoing so I have had the steering damper off and found it to be woking ok.

Any other ideas. Do I need to be looking elsewhere altogether like the suspension bush's. I have changed most of them just a couple of years ago so I can't imagine it is this?

It wud seem, Trewy that he has replaced the discs, bearings, balljoints and bushes, so there aint much left - unless he cocked up the replacement of any of them?

panhard rod or radius arm bushes would be next to check I'd think.
but something at the rear end is also a distinct possibility.

Cheer Mad, I will have a look tomorrow to see what I can see. I can only think that it might be this as yes I have changed nearly everything else in the past couple of years.

Ian, I do have some play in the steering box, however it was a recon box about 18months ago so I cant see this being the problem. It feels like somethig is loose rather than just slak in the box?

Cheers Trewy, I have change most of your list, I think about the only part I have not changed is the A frame ball joint. I am also due to put on a new pair of tyres on the front as they are getting close.
