Waiting for delivery of a RonBox 2a + maf + dash switch. As a complete novice how easy is it going to be to fit. I do know my way around an engine and have a practical logical mind!!

I ordered mine today as well,so same boat as you.Apparently they're a piece of p*** to fit,but someone will be along here shortly and give some further/better info.
Where are you planning to put the switch?someone on here put it in the drivers side glove box, which sounds ok but a bit of a long reach,I'm toying with trying to get it on the door arm rest somewhere, but I'll wait til I see the switch before I commit.
Good luck.

I have the HSE so there are already a lot of buttons in the cabin. However, have my eye on a blanking switch near the radio. Problem is that when you remove blanking switches the electrics for what should be there is behind it!!!

So no idea yet!!

mines also HSE,theres a blank switch to the right of steering wheel, next to the switch that disables the rear parking sensor, just above the glove box.I've got my eye on that as a back up position. No idea whats behind untill I get there.
It'll be interesting to see where others have put theirs.

hi

i got mine in the centre console, as mine is a 3 door, had the spare electric window blanks which u can adapt, if u do a search got some pics on here when i mounted the 3 way toggle switch behind a blanked switch in the centre console and put the blank front back over it so knowone could see it, or u can order it so u can have a two setting switch using an existing click oem switch

with regards to the wiring they're very easy to do, come with good instructions and just take it it bit by bit

very good units and transformed my td4

hope that may help abit

That would be me! The thing to consider is that the switch comes mounted in a little black box to keep the wiring nice and tidy, but it means that if you plan to mount it in a blank you'll have to take it out. This is partly the reason I went for the glovebox mount. I usually drive with the switch in Eco mode and don't have the need to regularly operate it, but its easy enough to pop the glovebox open and switch to performance mode when required... It just stuck to the top edge with a piece of reg plate mounting tape ;)

Looks ok in the glove box, might do the same.

Connectors are ZZPlug02 (from dingocroft anyway) and the switches are VVN100000, although what I did was go to a scrappy and cut off a few connectors and crimp them.

The switches are very hard to find, I managed to nab the switch frame, one switch and three blanks for two quid from a scrappy. I bought the switches new direct from LR as they are the cheapest anyway, but was still near £13 each, and I needed five (replaced the cruise control switch hole for one as well, and then had the blank repainted.
