Hi Guys. I need to pick someones brains again and as you were so much help last time with diagnsing my VCU problem I thought I'd have another go. My 'pain in the arse', as it is now lovingly referred to, is having a problem starting. Originally thought it was the cold weather and then thought, 'what the heck' its' a diesel landrover what could possibly deter it and then thought but it is a Freelander! So, it's having trouble starting and after a couple of tries drains the battery but my hubbys noticed that the battery is green. Don't think it's the starting motor as that was changed about 14 months ago. Someone has mentioned a bad earth but don't know how to diagnose that. Also if we're sat in the car with just the radio for any short length of time the car goes dead as well so it's obviously a battery problem somewhere. Yours hopeingly. Sam.

Sounds like the battery is knackered - can you borrow one to check? Just sounds as though it isn't holding its charge properly, which is common after a spell of really cold weather.

Yep my battery isn't holding charge well either, it's hard to diagnose, as it will still show a good voltage after charging!
