Sounds like it. Clean all the contacts.

I had this on a Volvo we had. It was the main +ve crimp connection onto the battery. Thought there was an alternator fault at first as only measuring 12.5V at the battery terminal. Measuring on the wire as it entered the crimp showed 14.5 or similar. Renewed the crimp and all was well.

Had a look at the lead from the starter to battery and that is where the voltage is dropping so will replace the lead thanks for the replies
