Voice recognition

Hi I have a range rover vogues SE 57 plate.
The navigation disc that came with the vehicle was 2006/2007. Was all working fine, press voice button on steering wheel, would beep and listening be shown on dash board. Have recently updated the system with navigation disc 2017/2018, everything is working apart from the voice button on the steering wheel, press it, and there no beep and listening isn't displayed. Any ideas from anyone.?

Does the newer software include voice recognition ?
Is it expecting a different language !!
Go through settings menus again & check its enabled.
Depending on phone brand, use Siri or OK Google ?

Have you tried shouting obscenities very loudly at it?

Buy a road atlas. Or PM JohnM70, he is our expert on the Isle of Wight.
