Hi All. My 2007 4.2litre supercharger has started to have the fan kick in on start up from cold. Then go off after about a minute.
Then when you've been on a run or sat waiting for the missus to pop in a shop as she says(and I don't know if this is a coincidence) but sometimes when you turn it off the outside temp gauge is on about 30 degrees and then when you shut it off the whole car goes dead electric wise. No steering lock no clock, radio nothing. Then seconds later it all comes back on and all the clocks, radio stations and date etc go to zero.
Then if you start it again the fan has kicked in and the outside temp is 30 degrees still. Drive down the road and it sounds like an old bus in India. The engine temp gauge is normal temp still. So any ideas would be great.

Thanks for the replies all. But would the outside temp sensor make the viscous fan cut in. Also if the battery was dodgy would it die then seconds later come back to life?

Your buggered with electrics, cannot smell it, see it leaking, and sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Check your terminal connections are tight and other connector blocks relating to the systems that are failing.
