this one NEW 2" 52mm UNIVERSAL DIGITAL LED WATER TEMP TEMPERATURE GAUGE METER CAR BLACK | eBay , i drilled a hole and cut thread in the elbow like in the attachment(maybe it's better to drill the hole a biot lower near the original sensor to not disturnb the acoustic cover but as i didn have one i neglected this, i've fitted an EGT gauge too cos i have a quite agresive remap to keep it on the safe side...the pic with the gauges was made with cold engine, the wire near the gauge is from the GPS charger cos the wiring for the gauges ar going under the binnacle

Is it possible to replace parts of the viscous fan or is it only the complete unit available?

Take care if you want to replace the fan I bought one off e bay "in good working order" looked fine but was just like the one I had i.e. Running all the time.
Bought one from a reputable dealer avertised as Bearmach cost £65.
it has been on for a few weeks now and you can easily tell it is working by the noise level changing, time will tell just how good this one is.
How many times do we see on this site you get what you pay for.

Just a thought but half of the UK will be running a rad-muff or door mat in front of their radiator this winter which is going to have the same effect !!

Ran my td5 90 for ages without viscous fan no problem, have since put electric fan in only because I tow a caravan and didn't want to risk it.

coolant temp sensor needs to be changed as it operates the viscous fan cut in when this sensor fails.
