Hi all

I am in the middle of replacing the viscous coupling in the BW transfer box on my RR classic.

Simple question - how do I get the old viscous coupling out of the housing it sits in? (I am half way through the job and have the old unit still in its housing on the workbench)

Cheers

Looks like it has to be pressed out with a multi-tonne hydraulic press.

Engineering shop for me then !

So I can give it a really good whack without fear of doing damage?

Incidentally would you recommend changing the bearing as well?

Instructions on doing this particular job seem to be few and far between!

Many thanks

plus seal frc7043 they are cheap ,housing is thin so shock can be safer than pressure and pull off rear output housing and check output shaft middle splines wear

Just one more question on this job sorry.....

I know I have to put a bit of grease on the underside of the oil seal to keep the metal ring in when fitting, but do I have to put any grease in bearing STC1130 or does it arrive ready to use?

Cheers
