Guys, I own a 300tdi Defender, runs fine but at a certain speed, roughly around 33mph and 45mph it's began to violently shake, I'm talking the whole vehicle shaking it's tits off. I can feel it through the steering wheel also. I originally thought it would be a Steering damper but after fitting brand new Terrafirma one the problem hasn't solved.

My car is my sole car and my commuter so any info or past experience will be Greatly Appreciated!

Please if possible answer ASAP as I need to be back at work for Tuesday

Cheers
Todd.

firstly do a search. but it can be anything from badly balanced/buckled wheels worn bushes (any or all of them) knackered swivels/wheel bearings/trackrod arms. rear aframe bushes etc etc

trial & elimination seems to be the only cure.

shakes at around 45mph is common to wheel balance problems have'nt lost any weights off your wheel or got lump of crap stuck in them some where

I've just had a thought of taking front propshaft off and taking it for a spin in high difflock and see if that cures it and then vice versa with the rear propshaft then it will help to figure out what it could be.

Check public transport time tables.... if your Landy knows you are desperate she will sense it... shaking her tits off at you is a form of attention seeking:)

Yep that can help. Don't forget to put nuts back on rear prop flange or the handbrake drum will fall orf half way down the road,
