Can anybody help me please I have a disco 2 auto I have just had a new transfer box put in and was told my fuel pressure regulator is leaking but that is not the problem I have I have done about 8 miles then all of a sudden I get this vibration when I accelerate past 2000 rpm goes up few gears gets to about 50mph and the vibration stops the car does pull to the right slightly but wouldn't thought it would be the tracking due to when I get to 50mph it's stops if I bring my foot off the accelerater again it stops

Any suggestions are welcome

Hi I have a similar sounding problem. I have a very small vibration at low speed but when I get to 85km/h the vibration is massive. It only happens when accelerating or maintaining constant speed. As soon as I take my foot off the accelerator the vibration stops.
I have a year 2000 V8 Disco 2 auto. My mechanic started investigating plugs, the coil and HT leads but with no success. A fault code check shows a misfire in cylinder 2 but I am not sure this is the cause as it only happens at exact speeds and not at exact revs in different gears.
Did you find the cause of your problem?
Cheers,
Dave

I think D2's had the (frankly awful) 'Donut' on the rear prop, replacing the UJ. These fall apart with monotonous regularity, especially if used off-road.

On the other hand with them being auto's, I'd look at, if they have them, the autobox torque converter.

I'd agree with @Paul D, any vibration in a D2 should result in an immediate examination of the rubber doughnut coupler on the diff end of the rear prop shaft, They're are cheap enough anyway and splits aren't always apparent so it would probably be best to get it changed anyway.
The next things to look at are the U/Js and sliding joints in both the front and rear prop shafts. Any play will require replacement.
Another reason for vibration can be the rear tyres out of balance. Almost everyone knows about balancing the front wheels, but the rear wheels running out of balance can send vibrations right through the vehicle making it difficult to isolate the source.
