not std fitting, do what he says above....or press it every button again and check to see if the bulb is knackered.

now what are we going to talk about?

Does the fog warning light work on the dash?

Cheers

I've asked a couple of times. Maybe people think I'm taking the p%£$ but I'm not. My Haynes manual hasn't arrived yet and I've searched and searched for exploded diagram views of my dash. I've pressed every button and diff stick in the car. I can't find our what the amber nipple light is for on my dash. A quick answer would be fab, so we don't need to go on talking on the thread after someone's told me. Thanx.View attachment 162853 .
Not simple then :0(

Any retrofit switches on the dash , or holes for one? Has the vehicle ever had spotlamps or a work lamp? If its for something like diff lock or fog lamps its a right botch job.

If it is anything like mine was when I first got it you will take the dash panel out and behind it there will be a mass of scotch-lock connectors and cut wires all over the place which attach to nothing and you will have to spend ages removing it all, soldering things back together and heat shrinking it. I would not be surprised if it is not connected to anything, but it could just as likely be connected to something completely random you would never have thought of.
While tracing the wiring I would check the bulb, as that might be the reason it is not lighting up when you are playing with switches.

what front brake pads and discs do you use? I only do about 6.5k miles a year. There's zimmermans, aftermarker, LR, brembo ...

Just so that I'm not getting in trouble for creating too many threads (and all help I'm getting is being written down so I don't need to ask again), what front brake pads and discs do you use? I only do about 6.5k miles a year. There's zimmermans, aftermarker, LR, brembo ...
I got new old stock brake pads form ebay last time so they are genuine but about half the price you would pay at the dealers. Usually I would fit mintex, but have used EBC in the past. The important thing when you replace them is to check the caliper is functioning properly otherwise no matter what pads you fit your are not going to brake very well. (If it is not, rebuild it with stainless pistons rather than replacing it!)
Brake brand seems to be something very personal and every one has an opinion on similar to waxing the chassis!

Cheers for that. Buying some in next hour.

Just noticed you were looking for discs as well, last time I replaced those I just used the standard solid britpart items, which have been fine for me with no issue. However I know others have complained about them not being true.

Yeah. I've got it in my notepad that there's no point changing the discs and not changing the pads. But on advisory it's discs pitted. It is pulling to left slightly when vraking

That is likely to be an issue on the right hand side either with the caliper, where one of the pistons is sticking usually due to corrosion, or the brake pads on the right side have become contaminated with oil. If it is the former then replacing the discs and pads will not make any difference.
