Thanks for that. I feel silly now that I replaced the solenoid and didn't make the connexion between these pipes I connected to it with those I found when looking at the engine from the top....

Will replace that pipe and also the air vent filter as it seems to be super cheap. Hopefully will cure the issue

am fairly sure it will ..

without the solenoid being connected to the main vacuum feed ..
the turbo vanes won't operate .. leaving them stuck in one position ..
and when you give it 'go go go' fuel .. the turbo will overboost ..
the ecu senses that .. and cuts the power to prevent damage to the engine ..

hopefully you can look forward to a happy hippo for the new year :)

Car is working a lot better now :) will have a look at the MAF later on the year as I feel it's not great at low revs and fuel consumption is high.

Priority is to work on this rattle on left front corner when turning right. Rattles as if an empty can was stuck in that corner. No noise when driving straight onto a bumper. Only when turning right and ground is uneven. I suspect the antiroll system ...

Hi all, i'm a newbie. I have read through many of these threads, and whilst talking on this subject, close to the one mentioned where there is a "ventilation - aircon noise", i have this noise from in cabin left side somewhere by the heater matrix. Now i'm being told its probably the evaporator. Is there anyone that can confirm the following : My freelander 1 1.8l petrol, was regassed about 2 weeks ago, and the aircon was working normal. Nice cold air blowing into the cabin when 3 days ago i experience warm air coming through, compressor pump kicks in gas is full, blower motor works, and this sound, like water running through a pipe (similar), comes from somewhere there. So i blew into the drain pipe underneath with compressed air to remove any moist or alien particles, blew out the filter inside the blower unit, and still not working. Any ideas please before i start stripping the entire dash? You can e-mail me at [email protected].
