I'm planning a Morocco trip (in August, in the heat - and its Ramadan) in my Disco with a roof rack. Although I've travelled in Africa before, I've never taken my own vehicle.
I plan to blackout the load-space windows and fit a hardboard clad dog guard. It'll be parked on the street in villages during the day and at varoius campsites in the eveing. The riads I'm going to use should offier some form of secure parking.
So, are there any do's and don'ts concerning the Disco's security?
Thanks!

Nothing other than the usual stuff you get here. dont keep things in sight, dont leave it on the street overnight etc etc.

I have a dog guard and window guards on my 90, nothing other than standard locks. Only really left it at campsites though. best place to park!

worth trying hotel car parks in towns etc. they usually have a guardian. nip in and ask the manager if its ok to park for a few hours then give the guardian some Dirhams to watch over it.

From what you have suggested, it should be fine. Just spotted roofrack. Obvious one really, try to get everything inside, if you cant, cover it up and ratchet strap it down.

Sounds good. The roofrack was to hold the spare wheel (padlocked), as well as the entire contents of the load area as we get to "Eastenders" on the return....

How many times have you been to Morocco?
Cheers!
