lookin at other post on veg oil i need to stay away from ones with Antifoaming Agent E900, do you know the best one to buy ??

Easy as that with SVO mate, you wont wanna run on a higher mix than 50% / 50% during the winter.
Do a search there are plenty of topics on this as well.

I think you'll find it was all the crap that was in your tank and engine that the veg oil cleaned out..... Just need to change your fuel filter a bit more frequently. And I ran my disco on 100% in minter no problems at all.. just use the glowplugs for a bit longer.

i changed fuel filter second i bought disco but shortly after was running C**P again, since taken fuel tank off and cleaned all out, put fresh diesel and run on diesel great now

What about yee sedimentor???????? Did that get a nice clean????? Mine is every three months! filter once a month!

Well then maybe sumone was banging wvo into the old girl and only filtering it with like a pair of old granny tights, it doesnt really work! Mine gets sieved then granny tights, then 5 micron filter then a 1 micron filter, and after all that it stands for two weeks to settle and separate the water, after that its banged straight in! Who needs diesel........

Sounds like you got to much time on ya hands lol, i havn't the time so will just keep running on diesel cheers for the info on it though

i ran my last disco on pure rapeseed oil from cash and carry for 12 months with no problems at all! it was a bit lumpy when it first started but soon ran fine. i stopped using it when people kept going on about the rings "gumming up" and destroying the engine although i had no trouble!

I am told that Landies are better twin tanked for veg oil... warm engine on Diesel then switch to veg and back just before stopping... this will stop any probs with 'gumming' and veg oil contaminating engine oil (bigger issue).

I have run Ruby on 100% (home made @ 15 ppl) biodiesel made from all sorts of waste oil (even kebab fat) with only a few probs in the cold weather (mainly 'cos I hadn't treated the BD for the cold).

Running on 50/50 uvo and derv ,bought myself a heated fuel filter off the webb this made a difference easy swop and then reroute one of the heater pipes through the new filter block cost was £62 inc vat and postage
cheers wodge
