Hi all,
Not been here for a while. I 've finally got my wife a different car so I can have the freelander back.

I'm pretty sure the VCU needs doing, but should I replace IRD as a precaution?

Also interested to know about best prices? I heard freelanderspecialists are conmen. Who is the best bell or ashcroft engineering?

Kind Regards,
Stefan.

Remove / replace VCU as a matter of urgency. Or at least remove old one. Bell for recon. Ashcroft for new. Only replace IRD if necessary. Hope yu caught it in time.

Think I'll go with Bell, 200 squid for a recon genuine one. Should I be replacing the bearings/supports? Is it worth me doing on my own or getting them to do it?

Replace vcu support bearings at the same time. Bell will probably supply and fit the bearings to the vcu for you if you ask.
