VDO temp gauge - sender?

I have found a 52mm water temp guage, I now need the sender to marry up to the 300tdi.

I would like to order it today and wondered if anyone knew the thread size for the sender down on the thermostat housing.


1) 120*C (EARTH RETURN) M10x1 - BUTTON
2) 120*C (EARTH RETURN) 1/8-27 NPTF -BUTTON

I am going to guess its M10x1 but is it?

and it works out cheaper than getting the LR one, everywhere I look they want 40 odd quid (and much much more elsewhere).
