Fair enough. Along with the cold the plastic is going to be brittle anyway. Angle grinder it is!
I used zip ties on a Freelander a few years ago and it was fine for months. I then used strong silicone to glue it back on and no issues.
Yes it rotates at high speed but there isn't much forward and backward pressure to break the glue.

I noticed mine is beginning to delaminate. I was thinking of using silicon to repair it temporarily, until I remove it when the VCU gets a refurb.

The stuff I used was very high strength. Can't remember the name but I'm sure the rings can be glued back on for a long term repair. They were glued on in the first place weren't they?
