Disco 2 valve spring broke, valve broke. Is cylinder and piston knackered as well?

As the title, I had starting problems which are most likely unrelated. Then the car started to run rough. Thought that was due to the harness. Was going to replace that when I saw a huge cap between rocker arm and the valve on cylinder 4 (counting from the front).

What is the likelihood of the piston and cylinder to be damaged as well?

You just have to pull the head off and see how bad the damage is.
If you need parts, or the job doing then there's Land Rover specialist down in Wicklow town.
They're called Kings. Ring Leo and see what he has to say...

Yeah, I know Leo King from the facebook page alright. It is getting the disco there that will be the problem. Funds are tight and time is even tighter.

Hopefully not a silly question, but, you said a huge gap between the rocker and the valve, your not talking about a gap between the rocker that operates the injector are you?

LOL turns out I am. When I had a good look at it I saw it wasn't the valve at all. Spot the Td5 noob!!!

Looks like you have parallel threads running on this one now!
Better result though!, But as advised, dont just fit a new one.
My own advice would be to remove all the injectors and have them checked/serviced, Diesel Bob did mine, it will cost you about £550.
If one injector has a problem it could be that all of them are suspect, three of mine were leaking which can cause all kinds of (expensive) issues.
Do you often use supermarket fuels? Some of them can contain more water than premium branded diesel. Water can really screw up your injectors.

No I live in Ireland were some diesel is dodgy in some places I have a diesel card so I go to main service stations. It seems that the pin of the rocker which holds the roll that is on the camshaft is loose. I can just push it out so that might have been the issue?

Any chance you can post some pics up?

I think he would send anywhere!
He may be able to repair yours, he will probably advise sending all 5 for checking. Hes a very straight player, and wont do work if its not required. He even advised me that I only needed three of mine doing but I asked him to do all five anyway.
