Hello All, please can someone tell me if the valve clearance going from a 3 hole to a 2 hole should be any different?

Found this for you pal

Protrusion....
0.50 - 0.60mm use a 1 hole gasket
0.61 - 0.70mm use a 2 hole gasket
0.71 - 0.80mm use a 3 hole gasket
0.81 - 0.90mm use a gasket no holes

Cheers mate, I was more wondering if the valve clearances in the head need to be different than 0.20mm if I have put a thinner gasket on?

What work have you just had done?
If the heads been off what’s the worry? just adjust the valve clearances it’s a 5 minute job;).

I take it you have measured and you are able to go down from a 3 hole to a 2?

Valve clearance same regardless of gasket, the gasket holes(thickness) is for protrusion.

I might be talking out of my….. as I don’t know the 300tdi ;).

Valve clearance (I.e the tappets) stays the same regardless of which head gasket you have.

the holes in the head gasket refer to the protrusion of the pistons above the block when at tdc. 1 is thinnest and no hole is thickest.
