If its been on grass you have to assume the bottom will fall out the chassis. Grass gives off co2 and water vapour that mix into corrosive condensation. May only affect the bottom so you may be able to weld on repair channel but a shame its not on concrete.

Thanks. I didn’t know this, so that’s useful info. I guess the same problem may apply to all the steel underneath, possibly even wheel rims and brake lines, exhaust etc.

If it has been sat in a field for any length of time I would be wanting to replace the brake lines and exhaust any way!
As long as the chassis and bulkhead are repairable and the engine turns freely it would be fairly straight forward to get it back on the road. If any of those are not the case it become a serious project.
