Hi,
Noticed a hissing noise coming from the engine bay, and when I checked found a small rubber hose had split. The hose goes into a t-connector into what I assume is the vacuum pipe for the brake servo. I traced the smaller hose back and it appears to go through the bulkhead.

I've done a quick fix, however just wondering what the other end attaches to and whether it is easy to get to, to replace the whole hose.

From searching around on the internet there is some mention it is attached to the re-circ flap on the internal heater /blower?

Almost forgot to mention its on a 93 200tdi disco

If it is an auto, it may be cruise control ...

Any ideas where the pipe would connect to? Probably dashboard out job to replace pipe completely?

Nah, drivers footwell ...

and on the top of the brake pedal there is a vacuum dump switch

Possibly it is attached to the re-circ flap on the internal heater as my old 3.5 RR had the same heater system with a similar control.

Did the 200 series have the luxury of cruise control? The 300 has a separate vacuum pump for that system.

So in theory that would mean getting back to the blower box to replace the whole pipe?

I'm tempted to live without a re-circ flap and block it off to maintain the vacuum in the brake servo :)

I don't know if the 200 had cruise control I know mine doesn't :)

1. Yes, but unless the hose isn't connected at the the flaps servo or has perished why not just replace the bit of hose that's in the engine bay and then use a straight hose connector to the remainder. You maybe able see the hose behind the dash you could with the RR just, looking up with a torch iirc.

2. Cruise control was introduced with the 1996MY disco.

Was just considering if one part had split then other parts of it may follow suit, time to have a poke around when it's stopped raining.
