I intend to check the turbo boost pressure, being an electrician and refrigeration engineer I have a set of gauges I can utilise, with an assortment of brass, copper fittings and some flexi pipe, I assume as close to the business end at the pump is where I should attach, is this right or nearer the turbo

well you wont want vac guage but pressure guage ,0-20 pis or 0 - 2bar ,eaiest place is too t" into the boost pipe for wastegate actuator or injection pump feed ,this is direct from turbo ,some use inlet manifold this just gives slight delay in reading boost as it rises as it takes time to go through pipes and intercooler, hence turbo lag and black puff from exhaust

Hi James sorry vag gauges is a generic term the read vac down to 20Hg and pressure anything up to 20Bg the pipe nearest the pump is far easier to get to thats why I want to tap in there

that will do as i said ,it comes straight from turbo housing so will give you reading of boost at turbo which is fine even if its a little before boost reaches inlet manifold
