Hi i'm toying with the idea of selling my 96 V8i XS LPG and getting an 02 V8i XS LPG, anything i should look out for whilst viewing? cheers

only prob i know of is the porous block and the usual S2 problems. with ACE, SLS etc. but dont let that put you off! I'd love a V8 disco S2, just cant afford the fuel!

Get one with an LPG conversion, run it on gas for economy or if your feeling particulary flush switch it over to petrol.

If its an auto the gear selector switch can get water in it from the a/c drain and cause it to go into limp home mode.

ABS sensors and front wheel bearings - can go and cost about £300 each side.

Think about the positives too. The disco 2 handles much better, has a qualitiy feel inside and is bigger than the 300 series

You will enjoy the Disco 2 LPG, however be prepared for numerous "usual problems" such as the "three amigos", coolant and sun roof leaks.
I had intermittent problems with the dreaded "three amigos", but since fitting a new brake light switch unit - problems have ceased - always go for the simple remedy first, before getting some Dealer quotes on repairs/renewals.

Currently running an 02 XS on gas.......... great motor .....BUT - like they said, the 3 amigos can send you mad trying to track down the cause, and can be an expensive mend. Make sure theres a certificate for the gas conv; ideally try and get the beast on to a proper test-book before buying it - worth the £30 to £60 cos it'll show any faults stored unless A. Craftybugger has had all faults cleared prior to selling. At around 70k - 80k the Ho sensors are a potential replacement as are plugs an leads. Should be NO drop in performance on gas, and I get about 160 to 200 miles outta every 60 litres dependin on how and where I'm driving.
