HELP!!
I am determined to get the V8 in my Seris 2 land rover to run. I have fuel getting to the cylinders but there seems to be a probleem with the ignition side. Fitted new coil, new points and capacitor, taken the dizzy out to make sure that everything is as it should be no play and everything seems to move as it should BUT.....

When I set it up it runs fine, sounds just like a V8 should but with the dwell meter on it it reads fine 26-28 degrees. but after a few minutes the dwell angle increases and the engine runs rough, It appears that the points have closed up but when I check manually with feeler gauges they haven't.

The v8 is a 3.5 litre from an early pre 76 range rover, with twin carbs.

Any ideas as to where to look for the cause would be most appreciated as I am rapidly losing patience and hair.

There are some dizzys on ebay for later versions - electronic Can I fit one of these???
Thanks Mike

you might be as well posting in the series forum or some of the disco fellas have had issues with the dizzy springs, cogs and other gubbins causing similar trouble!
