V8 non start issue after inner wing repairs

Hi guys , been a while since i posted and the defender is now fully stripped and down my shed , knowing thats going to be a long term project the sensible thing to do is buy another landrover to see me through .

I bought a 94 v8 3.9efi with rotten inner wings, foot wells and rear wheel arches , i have had all the welding done and refitted all the wing components ect. new bumpers back and front and its generally looking pretty tidy now.

I have the m.o.t booked for saturday but i cant get the bugger to start.

I think theres is three possible options .

1. ignition- the coil and wiring has been removed and return to its original place , i didnt unwire it but did clean all the earth connection and surface to get a good earth. i check no# one plug and had a spark althoough it was quite orange in colour , i expected it to be blue ? plugs look old so ill replace after the M.O.T.

2. I remove a unit i know nothing about , it appears to be a sort of vacuum pump that looks like it provides vacuum for the idle speed thing! i may have connected the pipe inccorrectly on this . What is this called and would it stop it starting ?

3. I have tried starting it then checked the fuel rail pressure release valve , by pressing the valve i noticed no pressure release which leads me to suspect the fuel pump is not providing fuel pressure , or the thingy described in 2 above also connects to what i think is the fuel overpressure valve i am wondering if the this is constantly open because i have connected the vacuum pump thingy incorrectly ?

Any pointers, ideas or guidance would be gratefully recieved, im at the point of desperation now and really need to get this started as i have several tonnes of materials arrive on sat to replace my drive but i cant get the discovery of it!!!

so after a quick chat with the lovely people at landrover it looks like the thingy is a cruise control vacuum pump . I think ill remove that from my fault causes and look again at the fuel pump.

I suspect i should here the fuel pump start before i turn the key to start the engine?

Is this a Disco or RRC?

Assuming hotwire injection do some simple checks. First disconnect the battery or take the main EFI plug off the ECU to reset it. Sometimes the 3.9 can be awkward to start after surgery.

Check the inertia switch is closed.

After reconnecting the battery/ECU plug turn the key so the ignition lights come on - hopefully you will hear at least 2 relays click - these are main EFI power relay and fuel pump relay.

You say you have a spark so hopefully coil is O.K.

You could disconnect the king lead off the coil then crank the engine - after this remove a plug, hopefully it will be wet with fuel.

If you are happy you have fuel, air and sparks it is sometimes necessary to loosen the dizzy clamp and advance the timing up to get it to fire up. If you go this way, MARK the dizzy position BEFORE you start. Then advance the dizzy and try to start the engine. BTW is the ignition timing correct to start with?

Its a disco 1994 , i have checked the fuel relay and that works , im trying to locate the enertia switch but the manual just says "drivers side of the heater, not sure which facia panel to take of to look for it.

The plug came out dry and when i turned it over i expected to see some vapour in the open cycylinder but there was nothing apparent.

I have opened up the fuel pump top cover and checked for power to the pump but am not getting any so again this point to the enertia switch.

ill try and locate that and reset , fingers crossed thats my issue , if not you dont happen to live in northampton do you

It is also an LPG conversion for reference! oh and yes its switched to petrol.
