v8 manifolds to downpipes

Hi, my 90 has a v8 fitted from the factory. I have fitted twin outlet eshaust manifolds from a r/rover but remember years ago reading an article from the states bout having twin downpipes each side , bout 20 inches long leading to a y piece each side, then on to a standard design system, just larger bore.
Any body come across something similer ? I want to keep to the standard manifolds rather than fitting bananas.

I don't think you can buy anything off the shelf but having it made should be easy enough...

I know that John Eales do a set of cast manifolds - i think they refer to them as Dakar manifolds, they are considerably bigger than standard but better than a bunch of bananas, they are designed to fit into a landrover or similar.

May be worth keeping an eye out for them on flea bay as I have seen them come up on there from time to time.
