Hello

I have a 1993 Range Rover Vogue SE which sounds lovely and quiet when I drive it on and off road.

This wont do at all, does anyone know what I need to change to the exhaust to make it sound like a proper V8 in full anger.

Cheers.

Dont be too quick to change it. Ive been back to Powerflow three times now having more boxes put into mine to quiet it down. It was great for the first 20 miles but after that the drone was unbearable.

Obviously not a V8 lover:eek:

From anywhere in particular Fett?
Not something I've looked into yet but if there are preferred sources let me know.

Here are the sounds of my 2 V8s. The disco is a bit quieter than the Rangie. If you are not a V8 lover, the drone from the Rangie inside might get to you, but the Disco is very pleasant inside, but can hear the exhaust if you want to.

We fitted a Rimmer Bros exhaust to our RRC a while back...the fitment was average, the quality was average, we were expecting more considering how much we paid for it. And Stainless steel? Yeah sure, it wasn't for long, infact it lasted the least time of any of the exhausts we have had. Now running Ashley Competition exhausts on both Rangiies...not stainless steel but they sound superb, decent fitment, and you get change from £300. I have used Ashley on my Astra MK2 and my Mazda 323 turbo and I would highly rate them.

(p.s contact Ashley Performance directly, don't go through people like POTN or the other online outlets as they put extra markup on them)

My p38 4.6 already had the cats taken out, and i got an rpi stainless system, but it isnt really much louder than standard, im thinking weather to take middle box out next! Sam

I particularly liked the way the camera got covered in gunk!!
I did not realise what happened to the camera until I watched the video. It was what I thought was a reasonable distance away, but it is what happens when the car has not been started for a while during winter, moisture builds up in the exhaust system.

The disco has extractors and a 2 1/4 inch system with high flow muffler and rear resonator to keep it a bit quiet.
The Rangie has standard headers and a 2 1/2 inch system with high flow muffler and no rear resonator.

Both are 4.6 V8s

The rear bar is a modified ARB bar.

I've got a stainless system from Quicksilver (Quicksilver Exhaust) on my L322 and it sounds like a beast. Don't know if they make them for RRC by default, but I think they'll make custom ones for pretty much any car going. Mine cost me £750 (was supposed to be £900, but you can always barter with these smal companies!).
