Can anyone please give me a bit of help. I've fitted a 3.9 efi to my defender and thought I would start it today . But no. The problem I'm having is that the fuel pump is not coming on and the injectors don't seem to fire. I've checked back to my wiring. ingnition live yes . Perm live to brown yes.earth yes. If you power probe the pump wires the pump will run from before the relay so there's not a break in the wire and the relay works. What am I missing?? I've got to the stage today where I'd had enough. I have done one of these before just don't know what's wrong.

both relays efi and pump need to work , and for that you do just need live brown feed and ignition feed brown is often striped and largest in connector ,the only earth you should have is secured to back of head 4 wires in 2 connectors

Thanks for the reply james I've got a brown which I did perm live a white purple fuel pump a white red which I did ing live .The pump don't even prime. Should I have done the white red perm live instead?

white red is usually feed to starter solenoid unless its a thick one , not live for efi use a continuity tester at efi relay to find battery live ,terminal 30 should be battery live and 86 ignition live iirc, the efi relay shoul then switch other relay on and run pump for 4 seconds then go off till you crank engine or switch off on again, wire from ecy to -coil lets ecu engine is turning and switches pump on and injectors
