brought a 95 3.9i Auto which has had a lot of the electrics stripped out.I only have a key to unlock and start it, and it runs ok until you stop when the engine is hot. Then if the car is not locked straight away it will not start.sometimes this happens even if the car is locked. After 10 minutes with the car locked it will start again and run perfectly ok,but if you try and start it before this time is up the sequence starts again.
It was suggested that a spider was required, purchased one, then found there was nothing to connect it to.
Has anybody any ideas on how to fix this problem, as it is embarrasing in petrol stations etc when it will not start, andi am blocking the exit!

Not sure, but a bad earth anywhere on the engine control loop will affect starting etc., and there are plenty of points around the engine bay area.

Ours is a later vehicle, but we have two on the inner wing by the battery, another one further up towards the windscreen and so on.

Same with earthing on the engine, check that everything is clean and tight and protected with Vaseline or similar petroleum jelly, DON'T use grease!

Disco's are a nightmare electrically, and there are so many possibles.....
