Anyone ever replaced one?

Are they easy to remove/replace?

Thanks

Very easy to change the injector. Just a few clips and a couple of bolts once the coils have been removed. The hardest part is getting the fuel rail and link pipe and link pipe clip off. My next misfire suggestion was going to an injector although they are normaly very reliable!!
The fuel rail looks like this ;)

Yep found the fuel rail thanks to some googling :)

I'm not sure if I have a faulty one or not, but when I was on the M5 yesterday I had a 5 second period of no power, like a cylinder wasn't firing at all.
Don't really want that to happen too many times!

Again, the only OBD code it picked up was P0301.

I'm still going to do the compression test when the kit arrives as that will give me some peace of mind at least, or highlight a potential HG/cylinder liner/ring problem (which I really want to know about - if it's there).

But for the sake of a tenner, I'd say it's also worth chucking a used injector in there to see what happens.

Thanks again for the help, I've learned shedloads trying to get to the bottom of this!

I'll give it a go :)

Cylinder 1 misfire!! You swapped the coils so has the fault moved? If not then I must be ether a plug or injector ? Tbh I can't see it being a mechanical fault as it's intermittent.

No the fault didn't move after I swapped the coils.

Just tried some Redex fuel system cleaner while I wait for an injector to arrive, just for the hell of it.

The ECU should know the injector is faulty if there is an electrical fault with it. Redex might clear it if the valve is sticking or the pintle is blocked.
