I've just got the V5 and it has a couple of discrepancies, inevitably the
previous owner couldn't be arsed to tell them the recon engine number so
I'll have to do it for him as it seems the MOT is getting very picky, but my
question is do they do two tone colours on the V5 i.e. mine is nearly as
much white as it is green yet the V5 just says green. I know they don't do
arty colours as they give the example of lavender being listed as purple,
but they say nowt about two tone, any one seen two colours listed on a V5?

They seen to just go for the basic colour, or use "multicolour" - I
put Leapoard Skin on the form for The Brand New Leopardskin Pillbox
Hat 88in, but it came back "Multicoloured" - boring sods ;-)

Mine is listed as cream on the V5 though there is a fair amount of green on
it now. On the new computerised MOT it is listed as cream, didn't give me
any trouble.

mine's listed as blue, despite being purple. I think they may be able to
change it when they MOT it.

My vehicles have been through MOT's without hassle without engine
numbers on the v5

Yes mine has a lot of blank spaces too and they can't fail on that, but it
does have an out of date engine number and from what I've read in various
places the new computerised MOT asks the tester to enter this and the
chassis number, and won't procede if they're wrong.

Apparently the database also has the wrong weights for a lot of Land Rovers
(3499kg) so they get rejected as that weight is a class 7 MOT not the class
4 that normal stations can do, here's more detail:
http://www.glencoyne.co.uk/motclass.htm

So it's worth checking the V5 well before the test is due as you have to get
it corrected.

Only reg and chassis number are entered and if they don't match you can
proceed
only the vehicle will need a VIC next time it needs taxing or so I was
informed
everyone I tested matched

a class 7 is a commercial vehicle over 3000kg so if it's got seats in the
back it's
a class 4

I took mine and there was no problem so I wonder if it's just the testers
being funny
