HI All - do you know what type of clutch replacement goes into a Defender / Isuzu 2.8 conversion (LT85 gearbox) and who can do this?

Is that a Landie CLutch?

Is that an Isuzu clutch?

Is that bits from both?

Any help would be very welcome!

Thanks

G

Don't think anybody knows:pop2:

zuzu cover plate, land rover friction plate

So all we need is the conversion plate to line the bellhousing up with the engine bolts/nuts and a Landy clutch plate.

And sort the engine mountings. I'm doing it after the summer is over so much more confident now.

Ta :)

i used a milner conversion plate and kit,it wa ded easy.the ardist thing about the conversion wa the wiring n all the extra senders n stuff.
Mine should be easy then as there are no sensors and no ecu, just a wire to the fuel shut off valve on the pump and a temp sender wire.:D

Any idea of cost after plate and clutch plate obtained ?:pop2:

To whoever mey be interested, this is to confirm that I was able to fit (my specialist) a massive Allisport intercooler to my 1987 Defender 110 fitted with an Isuzu 2.8. And what a difference this makes to performance! The work has been done in italy by a friend who prepares GT track BMWs for private clients. This is a total one off.
He has made a 30 years old hybrid Def engine bay look like a space ship engine room. Elegant, simple, functional and obviously, effective. The engine has gained approx 15HP, but importantly has a linear and elastic response throughout all revs, pulling the vehicle even in 5th gear.
The turbo waste gate as well as the injector pump has been tweaked to output a combination of acceptable performance and economy as the vehicle crosses Europe at least 4 times a year and has to cruise steadily with acceptable consumption, currenly being monitored, but estimated @ 32 - 35 MPG (approx 10 - 12 KM/lt). High level interventions:

1. Installation of Intercooler.
2. custom pipework from snorkel to K&N filter, including high graed alloy pipes and race graed sylicon products
3. replacement of steering hydraulics with aviation-graed oil lines
4. Blanked EGR
5. Re-positioned engine oil breather
6. Tweaked injection
7. Tweaked waste gate
8. re-postioning of quite a few bits, air filter, etc

The engine is the heavy duty commercial and military version with cam gears and lends itself to a very high degree of tuning, so this is absolutely well within all tolerances.

This is in addition to a good degree of solid sound proofing through out the vehicle as well as the engine bay. Travels like a dream and costed so little that could not believe it Pictures to follow shortly

Any chance of seeing those pictures? Just got a Range Rover Classic with the Isuzu 2.8 and I'm liking it a lot, thinking about putting another in the 110 now.
