I've a freelander 2.00 tdi, T-Reg. Think i've got a serious problem, when i brake my headlights come on, now i know there's a short somewhere. Now here's where it get worse, when i put my headlights on, my engine starts to hesitate, and it doesnt respond when i put my foot down, it only works if i put my foot on/off the accerlerator pedal. I've tryed to make sence of it, but its hard to explain. It only happens when i put my light on. do you think it could be the ECU.

someone has posted the same problem a while ago, cant remember who. but the problem turned out to in the brakelight bulb- fillament for breaklight had broken and fallen onto fillament for park lights. change your breaklights and see what happens.

I've taken it to a local garge. Keep the replys coming, i think he's gonna have a job finding the problem. Going to cost me big money i think.

Even though the local garage said they'll have a look, they werent able too. I checked my brakes lights, took them out and braked as usual and the lights didnt come on, now though when i put my lights on the rear light dont come on, but the brakes lights work. Is it the bulbs?

So when you are slowing down people in front think your flashing.
At night when you want to see where you are going you slow down.
And it only works when you pump the pedal up and down?????MMMMMMHHH
