For the Series Land Rover - are uprated shocks worthit? You can get a full set of Britpart (yeah, I know, not the best) HD shocks for £45...which lasted me a few years...or I can get Monroe gas ones for £110 or De-Carbon ones for £154...which is still cheap when compare to what I spend on my other cars on for example, Koni adjustables...but is it actually worthit? Will they last much longer than cheapo shocks considering what I use it for?

What seems to take them out is when I go on trips...miles and miles of just pounding the shocks at speed (well, for a series) on rocks/ridges/etc takes their toll. Will uprated ones survive any longer? Or will they just make the ride a it comfier until they do give up?

Are there any other alternatives I have not mentioned?

Cheers

Alex

Hmm, Britpart are looking like the winners at the moment! I know EMU are good, but are they really 5 times as good? I would be pretty pee'd off if I wrrecked the EMU ones on a few trips, not so irritated when I kill the cheapo Britpart!

Hmm, Pro Comp another option....any experience of these on the Series? We killed them on the Range Rover quite quickly! Are they beefy enough to give a good hacking whilst laden?

Whats the difference between the 109 and the 88" shocks? Do 109" just have a higher rating? Or do they mount differently etc?

Howabout getting some Armstrong shocks - i.e original - or will they not be much better than the Britpart for lengevity?

Lasting is a certain improvement!

How about Rough Country Nitro 9000 - set of 4 imported from the states for £180 inc VAT and delivery. Any good?

?

Run these on my 2a which gets some quite serious off-roading / green laning.

No problems to date. They are coming up to one year old and they seem ok - though i wouldn't claim to be a suspension expert.

Cool, so another thumbs up for those then...I have to say though they are very similar price to the Rough Country shocks - which are generally considered as more heavy duty?
