Does anyone have a source for the rear upper body corner bracket?
Mine is pretty rusty. I've already got all the cappings I need for the tub ready to go, but can't find a source of one of these brackets. Obvsiouly if needs must, I can make my own, but would much prefer if I can buy one ready to fit.
Thank you.
Matt

Trouble is all the ones I can find are still attached to the rest of the body.

It's fine, I'll have a look in the garage later today and I'm sure I can make something. Hopefully be able to clean this one up and weld a new plate on to it, though not the end of the world if I have to make one from scratch, just takes more time and will inevitably be a bit uglier.

I would probably do the same if needed, coat of paint and you will hardly notice.

Have you taken the roof and side panels off yet Matt? You should find that the body cappings are shot to bits, but the steel corner brackets, securing the ali side panels, aren't too bad. Hopefully they'll clean up, treat with rust inhibitor and paint up ok. Fingers crossed!

I knew the tub cappings were shot. I have a new pair in the stores that I bought before they more than doubled in price!
I had thought these corner brackets were OK though - my mistake.
Have mailed YRM and SP4x4, neither make them unfortunately.

However, in good news the bracket is off and I've got some 2mm steel on order. I'll just make a complete new bracket I think.
The challenge will be the recess in the bracket (where the hole is in my pic), I don't have a form to make it and I suspect my hydraulic press isn't man enough.
So instead, I'll use a short bit of tube to create the 8mm dip and fabricate/weld rather then press it in.
And if I balls up, I'll have another go until I make a decent one. :)

Roof section is all ready to come off to do the cappings; will remove the centre bulkhead and tidy up the front bulkhead at the same time.

I might do a nice CAD drawing of the bracket to print and use as a cutting template, rather than just freehanding it. If I do, I assume it'd be worth posting here for anyone else that needs to do this in future.

(It's a 1989 V8 CSW if anyone's interested)

Sounds like you have it all in hand. Good luck with the fabrication :)

Seems to have come out OK. DXF file (in the zip) attached for anyone that finds it useful. Only bit you should eyeball yourself is the centre of the recess - it's "as measured" in the dxf, but I actually eyeballed it and offset it by another 1mm to get a better fit when I trial fitted it all.
