Upgrade 4 speed Automatic gearbox in a Discovery 2 to a 5 or 6 speed.

Hi all,

I have looked around and cannot fine an answer.

Does anyone know of an upgrade or convertion for the standard 4 speed automatic gearbox to either a 5 speed or 6 speed automatic box?

IMO it's impossible cos the 5-6 speed boxes are working with different software in the transmission ECU which expects other kind of inputs on high speed CAN-BUS and will not recognise the Td5 engine ECU's data

Stand alone and covering a variety of 4 5 & 6 speed transmissions.

Looks expensive though so it's questionable as to whether or not the expense is justified by the extra performance? My guess is not but it certainly would be way cool.
