Now on 82,000 so another wee update..... just so that some people can see that there are some freelanders that are good and reliable and not all tales of woe on here!

At the last service (72k) I had the prop bearings changed again. Although no real signs of wear, as mentioned before they had been changed previously for cheap £16 ones and made a racket. Now have GKN ones on and the noises are gone and more enjoyable to drive now!

Also had the disks and pads changed on the service (Mike Aitken doesnt charge any extra labour for changing these as they strip the brakes every service anyway, so just parts cost to pay). Total for brakes, prop bearings and service was £450 ish.

Since end of December, I no longer use the FL off road, was working on the mobile phone masts but now working on a project for BT so working roadside at their street boxes for the new Fibre broadband. So no real need for a 4wd but the size of the vehicle helps to be seen and much easier to bump up curbs and get parked on grass verges when appropriate if parking on the road is too risky.

In January one of the speakers gave up the ghost through water ingress, just bought a cheap set from Halfords, had to space them a little so the window didnt catch but all good now.

The front door started to make a loud clicking noise when been moved, so tightened up the two bolts on the check strap that were very loose, thats that sorted too.

The front wipers making a grinding noise of sorts so will have a look at the motors/mechansim soon (seen other threads about the mechanism becoming loose).

Also seems to be some noises on full lock, need to investigate further at some point but will be in for 84k service soon so will get Mike to look at that, hope its just something simple (CV or similar)

I may be selling the FL though soon, I am running 2 motors and my wife doesnt drive. May trade both of them in and get a Volvo XC70 or Nissan X-trail, something I can use for home and work...... who knows. Shame to get rid of the FL when its been ubber reliable (other than obvious and expected wear and tear).
