I've been enjoying my 1st freelander (1998 2.0)) for a couple of weeks now.
It's developed an idle issue where randomly the idle will not drop below 1100 rpm where as normally it sits at about 800 ish. The vehicle is up to temp etc and it refuses to drop, then randomly does. It's also struggling to drop revs as I dip the clutch when changing gear, all of which makes things interesting. I thought to check the throttle body, but have been unable to locate it. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this issue, and/or where the throttle body is located would be a great helps.

Thank you in advance
Luke

Sorry for the inaccurate info. It's the 2.0 diesel L series engine, which is also fly by wire. Spoke to a specialist today who informed me that what I thought was just the MAF also dealt with IAT and throttle. I'm going to check that over first cleaning as necessary and go from there. Any other ideas would be gratefully received

As for throttle body only being on the petrol variant, please bare with me, it's been a good few years since I've owned a diesel and that was a brand new car so was serviced at a garage, never had any need to go in the engine bay. Saying that I have no fears in getting my hands dirty (changed the IRD recently on the drive way so have no fear in following up on any suggestions :)
