Ho all,
I'm hardwiring in a dash cam and I see that there are various unused slots on the passenger fuse box. Can I just use any spare one or do I have to use one in a specific area of the board. i only need it to power up when the ignition is on (button pressed)
Its a 2014 Metropolis

Thanks in advance

On a 64 plate FL2... F3 is permanent live and F52 powered at the same time the cig lighter socket it powered (powered when yer unlock the car until it times out unless yer put the ignition ont. Powers oft when locked).

Both of the above already have fuses already in them but yer can buy piggy back fuses which plug into the fuse hole, with the removed fuse plugged into that, and a separate fuse with a wire ont the end of it to power yer camera. Hence the original fuse stays in the same circuit via the piggy back thing and the eggstra fuse powers yer camera via the second fuse in said piggy.

Yer could use an empty hole if yer want. Yer just need to check when it's powered and where it is in the circuit. It may be a sub fuse powered oft another local fuse which may be critical.
