Unplugging the MAF on a TD4

Hi - is there anyway of unplugging the MAF on a TD4 without taking the covers off? I want to eliminate it as a cause of a low down misfire type problem.

Well I unplugged the Maf and there was no difference except perhaps a little loss at the top end - what does that mean?
