Hi Guys,

My lovely shiny roll cage is getting in the way of installing my original snorkel. Not only do snorkels look cool and will give me a nice place to route my light bar wires back into the car I also hear they can occasionally stop water getting in the engine. Since the usual side mount snorkel isn't an option I'm going to fit the wing mount type but I'm having trouble getting hold of one (3" diameter preferred):

something like:

you get the idea.

It seems Mantec no longer make them so does anyone else in the country?

cheers

I made a one piece snorkel from 3” stainless, salvaged from a milk tanker, and a mushroom top from eBay.
If you have an exhaust place near you that make stainless exhausts, maybe they could help you out....
Getting the angle down the windscreen and along the wing was tricky as the screen is angled back and in, and the snorkel follows the edge of the bonnet along the top of the wing, which also has an effect on the angle....

Thought I had better pics than these but you get the idea.....
If you used flexi tube between the screen tube and wing top tube, the angle wouldn’t be an issue....

The whole point of a snorkel is to stop water getting on to the engine o_O
Unless you're in the desert

Disagree, I am with the op, their primary usage is to hide the cabling needed to install roof lights. I have maybe once been in water deep enough to warrant a snorkel, whereas every time it is dark outside I use the roof lights :p
