Feckers  broke rear tailgate glass and rear side window Insurance says not covered so rang autoglass Ireland €680.00 to supply and fit  Rang Emmots of Colne whole tailgate including glass in epsom green and rear side glass for €150 + shipping. I understand the glass is bonded in emmots have said the side glass has been removed professionally. Anyone know how to do it or should I get it fitted by pro's ? hopefully the rear tailgate will be a painless fit ?

Thanks jj

Worth your while getting the experts involved. Gluing the new glass in isn't that difficult but getting the old glass out neatly, without nicking the paintwork and leaving just enough of the old bond to get a leakproof seal is difficult. Don't forget that you've got aerials in the side glass so you don't want the wiring damaged.

I hope for their sake you don't find those responsible! I think I'd do similar damage to said skulls on some 'attitude recalibration'...

+1 on side glass
the tailgate is a simple enough job the connectors are up inside to separate the loom and be sure to refit the grommet

unless you only have third party it should be covered. direct line for example even specify claims for acts of vandalism will have zero effect on no claims provided you have informed the BIB.

Thanks chaps for the replies.

Insurance is TPF&T so not covered by insurance :jaw:

Decided to get the pro's to do the side glass and getting tailgate shipped over from Emmotts hope it arrives in one piece.
