Hi i was wondering if anybody on hear can help with a new problem that has just started on my RRC 3.9 efi on lpg, the other day, on going to work my RRC backfired and since then the tick over is very low and rough, I thought with it back firing it might have caused an air leak on the inlet side but i cant see anything, do you think it could be the idle control valve? if anyone has come across this i would be most grateful, thanks in advance

Is it a single point LPG system? If so, the back fire could have as you say caused a leak on the inlet or damaged the MAF sensor which can cause rough running & erratic idle.

Hi it is a single point system, and i have looked at replacing the MAF sensor and they seam to be in the 45 to 60 pound range so i will order one now and see how it goes, thank you for the reply

Does it have a device to protect the MAF?

Often fitted between MAF and plenum, mine is a typical unit being a metal collar with a rubber band round it, on backfire a gate blocks the pipe and the rubber band dislodges and allows the pressure out. It the. Needs refitting correctly
